Hello and Welcome!

For a long time, writing was just how I kept in touch. I had an online journal that I updated for my parents — little snapshots of my life, bits of everyday moments, things I wanted to share across the distance. I never really thought of it as “writing,” just a way of saying, this is what’s happening, this is where I am.

At some point, I stopped journaling, but the habit of noticing and reflecting never really went away. It just shifted. What used to come out in small entries and updates slowly started to come together into something bigger.

This memoir feels, in a way, like gathering all those years — almost twenty-five of them — and holding them in one place. Writing it meant looking back, connecting pieces, and understanding my own story a little more clearly.

If those journal entries were my way of reaching out back then, this book feels like opening that door again — just in a different way.

I’m really happy you’re here.
